A Simple Guide
My first foray into the world of Freelance Games Journalism was a complete accident really. It hadn’t been long since I had my Switch and the plastic clip to hold the Joycon in place became chipped. Like most people would, I rang up Nintendo Australia, only to be told that the problems were caused by “misuse” and “not using the item as intended”. The chip happened when I slid the Joycon back into its place and the Joycon drift well, everyone knows what happened there. I was informed that the cost to repair the joy cons would be the same as a new pair of Joycons. How convenient. As a poor full time Carer, that wasn’t an option, so I ended up searching amazon for kits to repair the Joycons myself. Alex walker, the managing editor of Kotaku Australia at the time, requested that I make a guide for others that might be scared to do the exact thing I was undertaking. Thus, my guide for repairing Joycon Drift went live on Kotaku.
With Kotaku AU no longer being a thing, I’ve included a PDF of the article for your convenience. It is available to download if that is easier.
