A Final Fantasy PVP guide
I’m not exactly sure when I got into the PVP mode in Final Fantasy XIV. I do know it was after they added crystalline conflict; a short 5 versus 5 game mode where opposing teams try to push the crystal to their side. It reminded me of Overwatch, but was probably less crap, so I thought I’d give it a go. It ended up not being as bad as figured it would be.
I’m not a very competitive player, preferring to play co-operatively. I’m a bit mid as a player and unable to really be a help. Yet, I somehow found that Crystalline Conflict wasn’t that bad. I ended up trying the other mode Frontline, where three lots of 24 players fight each other to win. These each had a different win mode, but all require teamwork. As I am not the best at competitive games, I thought who better to make a guide then a perfectly mid to low tier player?
Unfortunately, I wrote a lot more for Kotaku AU than I realised. I didn’t get it all before it became whatever it is today. Luckily, I have my copies of what I wrote, but it’s without the editor’s input so it’s the raw drafts. I’m still sharing them for people who are interested.
